Parent Handouts on Child Development

These handouts provide parents with tips on what child care programs will be working on with a child based on the child’s age (ages 2 months through 4 years). Each handout includes:

  • Tools for healthy, active living

  • Tips by topic areas such as "relationships" and "nutrition"

  • Questions for parents to ask their health care professional

Bright Futures Patient/Parent Education Handouts provide an opportunity to recall important topics discussed during a well-child visit. They summarize information related to each of the 5 Bright Futures priorities, and are available for children ages 2 days to 21 years.

These tip sheets and parent cards inform families on what to expect from caregivers of children 2 months through 4 years of age.

These handouts list the developmental milestones that children typically reach at specific ages. These handouts range from ages 2 months through 5 years.

These handouts discuss child development, positive parenting, safety, and health. They range from infants through teen-agers.
